Barrier properties of varnishes for protection of photographs
Lokotschová, Radka ; Čeppan, Michal (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
In this diploma thesis the basic principles of inkjet print, ink composition, print media and degradation mechanisms of ink dyes are summarized. The thesis deals with study of varnish barrier properties in coloured inkjet prints. Permeability of water vapour and oxygen (parts of atmosphere) depending on different coatings are tested there. In addition the influence of ozone on degradation of dyes was studied, while ozone was permeating through barrier varnish layer of inkjet print. Ozone plays an important role in degradation processes of the inkjet prints and it also causes a gas-fading. Concentrations of acting ozone were established by iodometric titration. Simultaneously kinetics of degradation of Orange 7 was studied on indicator papers.
Study of plasma species by mass spectroscopy
Bureš, Michal ; Čáslavský, Josef (referee) ; Čech, Vladimír (advisor)
Plasma polymer films of tetravinylsilane and mixture of tetravinylsilane and oxygen gas were deposited on silicon wafers. Oxygen gas was mixed in tetravinylsilane to improve the compatibility of thin films on glass substrates. Mass spectroscopy was employed during the cleaning of the deposition chamber to check residual gases and process gases, during plasma deposition to monitor neutral plasma species and to follow plasma stability.

Burners for high-temperature industrial applications
Naď, Martin ; Hájek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bělohradský, Petr (advisor)
The main purpose of the bachelor thesis is the discussion of different types of burners and their components. Emphasis is placed mainly on the combustion process with oxygen content more than 21 % in the combustion air, the so called oxygen-enhanced combustion (OEC). The thesis describes characteristic features, possibilities and appropriateness of its use. Since in handling of oxygen there is a level of risk of injury, the thesis also assesses the safety and risks associated therewith. As the combustion process in terms of OEC is significantly different from the conditions of combustion with the atmospheric air, the thesis analyses the impact of the content of oxygen in atmospheric air on flue gas temperature and fuel consumption.
Air enrichment with highly pure oxygen in combustion processes
Polášek, Kryštof ; Hudák, Igor (referee) ; Bělohradský, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the oxygen enhanced combustion (OEC). The thesis describes different methods of enriching the combustion process with oxygen, also the advantages and disadvantages of enhancing the combustion are evaluated. The next part contains an overview of the use of OEC in specific industries. Since certain safety precautions must be taken when handling of oxygen, a separate chapter deals with the safety of oxygen enhanced combustion. In the last part of the thesis a simulation of the OEC process in ChemCAD software was carried out. The influence of oxygen concentration in the oxidizing agent on the flue gas volume, temperature, density and viscosity and the concentration of CO2 and H2O in the flue gas was investigated.
Plasma surface modification of glass fibers and its optimization
Širjovová, Veronika ; Knob, Antonín (referee) ; Čech, Vladimír (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with glass fiber surface modification using plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition in order to prepare functional interface that enhances the properties of polymer composites. The effect of deposition conditions on shear strength was observed with respect to the chemical composition of the deposited film. Thin films were deposited on planar substrates and fibers using monomer tetravinylsilane in a mixture with oxygen at selected power of plasma discharge. Chemical composition of prepared material was analyzed by infrared spectroscopy. Planar substrate film adhesion was measured using the scratch test. The composite sample was prepared by embedding the surface modified fibers in unsaturated polyester resin, followed by the curing process. The cured composite sample underwent the short beam shear test.
